John Lewis has leapfrogged M&S at the top of the customer service rankings.
In another sign that boss Jason Tarry's turnaround plan is gaining momentum, the department store took top spot in a survey of 60,000 shoppers; by the Institute of Customer Service (ICS).
John Lewis scored 86.7 out of 100 while M&S scored 85.6 for its food offering and 85.4 for its fashion and homeware.
That put it back above M&S, JetBlack; which had taken the top spot in the ICS's biannual UK Customer Satisfaction Index in January.<img src="https://driversunlimited.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/0qujpkqw_sg.jpg"; style="max-width:400px;float:left;padding:10px 10px 10px 0px;border:0px;" alt="" />
John Lewis has seen better fortunes since the return of its century-old ‘never knowingly undersold' price pledge.
Bosses are also investing in its 36 stores to appeal to Gen Z shoppers.
